Cape Town Cool engagement shoot | Marc & Suzanne

Marc and Suzanne were so excited about this shoot. I came to the shoot with a few ideas, but was blown away with all their ideas and props. It was again a very windy day in the Mother City but we managed to get some great shots. I just loved the spontaneous laughing and jokes they made. I am looking forward to your wedding day to capture you guys again.

In the bottom photo you can see the light setup I used to get the right exposure on the couple. Without this setup their faces would have been dark with no detail.

I had to do some photoshopping to take the stand out of the photo :)

Hanri & Wulrich at Santé Hotel and Spa | Part 1

If been taking wedding photos of different people now for the last 6 years, from celebrities, too international models. But taking photos of a successful wedding coordinators wedding was something totally different. Hanri is the owner of Glee Events and Promotions and she organize 100's of weddings in the past. But this time it was her own very special day. I was really happy and a little bit stressed when she contacted me to take photos of their wedding day. What an honour for me. Hanri and Wulrich decided to celebrate their wedding at the amazing Santé Hotel and Spa. WOW, this is truly an AWESOME wedding venue with the most beautiful photo opportunities. To much to cover all in one day.

JC le Roux wedding | Anton and Lené

This was my first wedding at JC le Roux. And I have to say that I am very impressed with their venue, food and service. Anton and Lené both got dressed at Devon Valley Hotel and they also had their ceremony there.

I have to say that it was so nice taking wedding photos of Anton and Lené. They were so relaxed in front of the camera and they had some awesome chemistry. That sparkle in the eye is something one cant "pose".

I hope you enjoy the the photos with me. This is another huge post with more than 150 photos, so, please be patient while all the photos load :)

I recieved this beautiful message from Lené's mother after I posted the wedding. This was so special to me that I had to share this: "The honeymoon couple asked me to thank you for putting the photo's up a day early! I think Lené was still in school when she came back from a wedding expo at Tyger Valley and you were sitting at Pick'n Pay side and she said that she wanted you to do her wedding photos!! She also chose her make-up lady Marietjie when she was only 15 years old. And she loves champagne so this was such an easy wedding to plan - just call all the people she always admired and move on...Pity she had to kiss a few frogs before she found her amazing prince, but he was worth waiting for. We love him so much and look forward to seeing how they live their lives together. We are so blessed."

Ivan and Michelle wedding at Kronenburg

Ivan and Michelle had their wedding ceremony and reception at the lovely Kronenburg Estate near Paarl. Being a wedding photographer I get to meet a lot of different people. Getting to know Ivan and Michelle was such a blessing. That thing about inner beauty is so true. Their inner beauty can be seen in the photos. I just love it when a bride is "happy" on her wedding day, because one can see that in her face and in her heart. Thank you Ivan and Michelle for making my work so easy because you guys are just so "beautiful'.

Despite of a VERY STRONG WIND, I am very happy with the moments we managed to capture. Hope you enjoy the photos with me.

Dieter Voigt & Martelize van Niekerk - Celebrity Wedding at Altyd Lig

Dit was my voorreg gewees om die foto's te neem van Dieter Voigt (Mr. SA 2007 en huidige Pasella aanbieder) en Martelize van Niekerk (SA Idols finalis) se troue. Hulle het getrou in die NG Kerk Kuilsrivier en hul onthaal gehou op Altyd Lig. Dit was so lekker gewees om met hulle te werk want hul liefde vir mekaar is so tasbaar gewees met awesome chemistry tussen hulle.

Hayden & Stacey | CPUT Hotel School

For a long time everyone in Cape Town was complaining about our "long" winter. Well, on Hayden and Stacey's wedding we got a "taste" of summer. It was really really very HOT!!! To top it all the ceremony was outside at 12:00...(eish)

Hayden and Stacey got married and had their reception at CPUT Hotel School. I was very impressed with this venue, their service and food was excellent.

Unfortunately I didn't have time to take photos of Stacey before the ceremony, because the make-up artist was late. I just wish that all wedding service providers will realize that we all are depending on oneanother.

Cape Town night engagement shoot with Marné and Wyno.

When I saw the beautiful Christmas lights in Cape Town I just knew that I wanted to do a shoot there at night. When Marné booked me for their wedding photos in Dec 2012, I offered to do an engagement shoot for them. My plan was then to go to Cape Town for the shoot. I was very excited when they agreed upon the location. Everything was organized and planned, except we couldn't plan and order the wind. It was a very windy night in Cape Town, but I am happy with the results.

As many of you would know, I was a teacher before I started photography. Marné and Wyno were both learners in the school when I was teaching. It is always great to take photos of past pupils. I an looking forward to your wedding in December.

Morgansvlei wedding | Jaco & Natalie

This was my last wedding for 2011. Shooting my second wedding at Morgansvlei near Tulbagh was again very nice. This is a fantastic venue with a lot of awesome photo opportunities. Jaco from SA and Natalie from the UK decided to have a South African wedding with beautiful Proteas part of the decor.

Beautiful venue with a little bit of PAINT WITH LIGHT.
